Pool Calc #-7100 gal

Volume Formula #-6255 gal

HTH Test Calc #-6287 gal

Where's the difference in gal's on a 12x24x3.7 oval ? I can accept the two but 845 is large. Is something else figured in with the Pool Calc # ??

If it is essentially two 12' diameter half-circles separated by a 12' square, then 7100 is what I get. The other calculators may be assuming something shaped more like an ellipse, which would be expected if it was in-ground.[attachment=0:3q9do4l1]ovals.gif[/attachment:3q9do4l1]

What Richard320 said (except that I know for sure).

The difference has to do with what an "oval" is. The formula you are using and the HTH calculations assume an oval/ellipse as defined in geometry, everything rounded with no straight lines anywhere, while the Pool Calculator is assuming the common swimming pool oval, straight sides on the long sides with half circles on either end.
