filter water white

I have an aboveground pool. The water that is coming back into the pool is white. I have a sand filter and i just used filter cleaner. How long will it take for the water to come out clear?

What was in the filter cleaner? All that is needed to clean a sand filter is a backwashing.

i bought it at a pool store it has citric acid but the water was coming out cloudy before that so i thought that might work

why would cloudy water come out of the filter and how do i clear it up

Did you backwash until the water was clear? Did you rinse?

Yes I backwashed for 5 minutes should I backwash again for longer the water wasn't crystal clear but it was semi clear

I would suggest you repeat....I know it takes a lot of water. Backwashing should bring the water up to pretty darn clear...perhaps not sparkling. Importantly, then you must rinse (mine takes over a minute) to resettle the sand bed.....this is the only way to keep junk from blowing back into your pool

Is it possible that pollen is getting into the filter from the pool water
