When I opened my pool about two weeks ago, my water level dropped 1 foot (approx 6K gallons of water) from the initial water level when I closed my pool in September. This makes me believe that there might be some damage with my liner, but I have checked and have not noticed any thing different from last year. Also, I have had the pool running normal about 8 hours a day for the last two weeks, and noticed that the water level drops about 1/4 inch a week, is any of this normal? Should I be concerned that there might be a leak?

1/4" per week actually sounds low to me, but then, my pool is uncovered.
It makes a difference where you live. If you had a mountain of snow on top of the cover, it could have pressed down and forced water out.

Where you live, and whether the pool is covered makes a big difference in how much water evaporates. You can do a bucket test to see if it's a leak but as Richard said, ¼" per week sounds low.
