Adding Bleach according to pool calculator

FC 4; CYA 80; pH 7.2; TA 120

I want to increase the FC due to a group coming to swim. I plugged in my numbers in the pool calculator (first time to use it).

I listed the above numbers, the size of my pool in gallons and the goal of an FC of 9. I hit the calculate button and the result was to add .2 oz of 6% bleach.

Could this possibly be correct? Sure didn't sound plausible.... So I figure I am doing something wrong again!

I suspect a typo on your part.

Also note that sometimes you have to go down a box or two before it updates.

I get 178oz, but if I put in 17.200 gallons it tells me 0.2oz.

Take out the "," or "." and input 17200 in the size field.

Encourage your guests to splash a lot and do lots of cannonballs. This will help aerate and raise your Ph without raising your TA!
