Need for Calcium in Painted Pools?

Would calcium need to be added to a pool with a plaster bottom that has been painted over with epoxy paint?

    thanks.

theoretically, the epoxy seals the plaster so no calcium required- theoretically!
I would maintain calcium, because eventually the epoxy will crack/leak and plaster will still leach...
