Anyone have this happen? Polaris Wall Collar problem

The 2 pins in the wall collar for the Polaris quick disconnect sheared off. I can no longer hook up my Polaris to the wall jet. It hooked up fine yesterday and then today I came out turned on the booster pump and the hose halfway popped out.

I'm going to buy a new wall collar and install it but has anyone ever had this happen? Is it pretty common for them to wear out or did I hook something up incorrectly?

Mine sheared off inside the wall. I had to use a small vibrating saw to cut it out....very carfully so not to damage the threads on the pool side of the connector.

a putty knife or fan blade wide enough to fit in will help you unscrew it
