CaCl Costs

I need to bring my calcium hardness up from 150 into the suggested range.

Any ideas about the cheapest way to buy calcium chloride or calcium chloride dihydrate?

My favorite pool supply catalog has 25 lbs. for $45.

IMO, might as well use calcium hypochlorite - get the CH while still getting CL in there.

Peladow or calcium chloride used as driveway melt. Local Ace HW here carries it for around $15-20 for a 40lb bag

I'm not using bleach for Cl, so cal-hypo sounds like a good option. Peladow will be quicker, though. I'll try something and report back.

About the only time I wish I was back in NY is when we need Calcium Chloride. Up there you can buy it just about anywhere, even the grocery store, for about 15 bucks a 40lb bag. Down here - HA! not much snow/ice to melt and the pool stores whack you over the head for it.
