SoftSwim A & Borates, do I need both????

I was wondering since I am using SoftSwim & Borates in my pool, do I still need to be adding SoftSwim A??? If the Borates prevent all algae from growing, what would be the point in adding an Algacide as well?

No need to. As long as you keep a proper amount of FC in your pool, algae will never be a problem.

My pool is a Biguanide (SoftSwim) pool not Chlorine, so I don't have FC.

Borates do not prevent all algae from growing. They slow the algae down a great deal, but don't stop it completely. So yes, you still need SoftSwim A.
