How long was your pool build?

From deciding on which builder from all that we interviewed, through the filling of the pool, and on to the point where the builder finished almost everything that he was contracted to do, our renovation took 10 months.

I've been dreading anyone would ever post that question. Mine was DIY and took a stunning (but educational) 3+ years from the first tree I cut until the last of the decking was laid.

(No, I am not ready to build another one  )

Thenk Goodness Duraleigh~ I figured it would be me! I will be 2 years in October from the time I started putting pen to paper and I figure I got another couple of months to go to swim.

But like Duraleigh, I am a DIY.

Signed on 4th july 2009, Construction started on 07/16/09 and swimming on 08/06/09. Took 21 days to build and could have been 17 days but the screen people were delayed.

Mine was signed in August. I started cutting trees in July. I've got everything but caulking and some repair work they still owe and some more deck that I'm doing. I hope to have everything complete in ONE year and then off to building a outdoor Pizza oven and putting green. Don't want to leave my back yard for quite sometime.

We are pretty much wrapped up now, so I thought I would update this:
5/7 - Signed
5/20 - Dig and steel
5/21 - Rough Plumbing
5/27 - Gunite
6/2 - Plumbing
6/3 - Electrical
6/15-6/18 - Tile, Coping, Waterfall
6/21 - Deck Form
6/24 - Deck Pour
6/28 - Plaster/Acid Wash/Fill
6/29 - Equipment Start
7/1 - Swim Time :) - 6 weeks from Dig to Swim!
7/7 - Spray Deck

Only thing we have left is "Pool School." Our PB gave us a quick run down, but said he would come back and give us more in depth instruction. Probably going to happen within the next week or so. He has been by daily, double checking what we have been doing to take care of it.

4/6 - Signed
5/3 - Layout
5/4 - Excavation/Steel Started
5/5 - Steel Finished
5/9 - Gunite
5/16 - Plumbing
5/17 - Tile
5/24 - Coping
5/26 - Coping Part 2
6/2 - Decking (pavers)
6/6 - Waterfall
6/14 - Equipment
6/16 - Plaster
6/18 - Finished & Fireup

Overall not bad. Would have been a lot better if there hadn't been such a delay between signing and dig starting.
