Does this device require specifically designed treads for different surfaces? I'm getting conflicting answers to this question. I see some on-line vendors that ask you to specify which pool surface you have(vinyl, FG, gunite) when you purchase and some that don't. The ones that do not say the cleaner comes equipped with treads designed for all surfaces. Were any of you given an option when you bought yours?

You have to specify for cement(gunite), vinyl or fiberglass. All have different tires. Anybody telling you different is incorrect.
Why do you think that? Their web site only lists a single part number of each model and even the replacement parts list only lists a single kind of tire (plus the bump tires for getting over large obstructions).daddybug said:

I just ordered tires for a broken 4-wheel. If you look at their manual, they support several tire types, depending on the type of surface...
