Plain bleach for pools but what about in the household.

I know that here on Trouble Free Pools the recommend is to use a plain unscented bleach for water treatment but what about in the household..

Have a read of this study (slideshow) and you may want to be using that same unscented untreated bleach in the household as well.

That was very interesting and does seem to show that the plain bleach products (like "Bleach 5") produce fewer disinfection by-products. Of course, this study is looking at concentrated bleach -- the amounts in diluted situations such as pools will be lower.
