New pentair vf 3050

Just purchased a new pump. It says easy to set up...I can't get the pump to automatically turn on. I have to manually turn on. Am I just dumb?

There are a couple of things you need to do for it to work automatically. First the pump needs to always have power. Second you need to program a schedule. And third you need to put it into Filter mode. If it is in manual mode it won't run the schedule.
