Installing the Pool Pilot Manifold question

I have a question about the installation of the manifold.

If you have to replace the flow bypass, you would need to cut out the PVC and build up and couple in some more PVC. I really hate that.

Has anybody put one of these in with couples that you can take down and put back? Like on the cell itself?

You can use unions if you want, but I have never heard of there being a problem with the bypass valve that required replacement.

I installed mine with unions (Home Depot), the unions had oring type seals. Works great and allows me to remove the entire bypass manaifiold and cell during the winter. I installl a jumper line in place of the manifold so I can run the pump when I open the pool the next spring.
