    Like a Big Blue Icee

Opened pool and it was green. Blind vacuumed, cholirnated and seems like we were on the path to clearing the pool. We have been stuck for a few days with the pool water being very cloudy. Blue, but cloudy. Here are the latest test results:

    Pool: 30,000 gals., Vinyl liner

    FC: 1
    CC: 6
    TC: 7
    pH: 6.8
    T/A: 50
    CH: 170

I also just dropped chemicals in to get the calcium hardness up and to address the pH. Once pH and CH corrects themselves, I will continue cholrinating. Any other suggestions?

You need to see the shock value for that level of CYA in the Chlorine/CYA chart in pool school and read shocking your pool.

With CC at 6 you need to keep shocking. Before getting back to that, raise the PH up to around 7.2 to 7.4. That may take a couple of tries, as the standard PH test will read anything below 6.8 as if it was 6.8.

Thats what I thought Jason. I will check it again in a bit. Looks like the shock value needs to be about 20 for my current condintions. Thanks guys!!

By the way, with a vinyl liner your CH of 170 was fine. CH range for vinyl is 50-300.
