Pump question

Hi-- I need to replace the pump on my in-ground pool. The current pump is a pentair challenger (1.5 HP). I am looking for advice on pump makes and models. Is the challenger the best option, or are there other comparable pumps that are easier on the wallet?

Could you tell us your pool specs? Do you have a spa or any water features? How many gallons in the pool? What brand/model of filter do you have?
