Oval AGP and foam coves

I'm planning on using the foam coves when we install my pool, but I have one concern. From what I understand the bottom rails could be high on the sides of an oval pool. How do I handle this? Fill it up with sand so that it is all level then add the coves? As anyone installed these in an oval AGP?

Another concern is the dire warning they put on the installation manual about not using a 6-8" sand cove. Please assure me that those teeny tiny foam coves will be fine.

You will be fine. You have to smooth out the ground and any cove or anything else will have to above that. Those foam coves are only about 4" so they aren't too big.

We have an oval and put the Gorilla pad in the bottom, foam wall, then the foam cove. It went just fine in that order.
