What to do with old chlorine tablets?

We had a 27" agp pool installed this past weekend and want to go the BBB route. However, we have a bunch of 1" and 3" chlorine tablets leftover from last year's intex pool. Are they of any use anymore or should we get rid of them? If they aren't of use in our new pool, how/where do we dispose of them? After adding a gallon of bleach last night, the FC level was at 5 and we have CYA of 0. Thanks in advance!

Since CYA is at zero right now, you could use up your trichlor tablets on the pool. They will raise FC, raise CYA, and lower PH. So keep an eye out on the PH. That will be easier than trying to find a safe way to dispose of them.

Keep enough to get the pool through your next vacation. It is hard enough to ask someone to come take care of the house when you are gone. Water the plants, get the mail, empty the skimmers, check the water level on the pool. If you can get the chlorine taken care of for the most part by using the floater or automatic, then they won't have to do too much testing or dumping of bleach for you. A week of using tablets ought to not make that much difference to the CYA level if it is a bit on the low side when you start.
