cya added with chlorine tablets

Trichlor pucks are usually about 7 ounces each. Each puck adds the following amounts:

Pool volume......Cyanuric acid added...........Chlorine added
In gallons........ by (1) 3-inch tab (ppm)...... per tab (ppm)

10,000..............3.0................................4.8
15,000..............2.0................................3.2
20,000..............1.5................................2.4
25,000..............1.2................................1.9
30,000..............1.0................................1.6

Or, trichlor adds 6ppm CYA for every 10ppm FC.

That's a good rule if you are adding a dose of chlorine all at once, but most people don't think about ppm chlorine added when using tabs. They count the number of tabs used, and use tabs to maintain a certain level.

Hm, true, just thought I'd point out the relationship. Not clear whether diverman57 is a regular tab user, or somebody like me using N tabs to get CYA where it wants to be. I've found asking the Pool Calculator to tell me how much CYA from 10 tabs is a good starting point.
