    Free Chlorine Vs Total Chlorine

    I got a reading of 4.5 total chlorine and 0 reading on Free Chlorine. Do I just keep adding more Bleach? How do i get the Free Chlorine to rise? You guys are great!

    Yes, you keep adding bleach. Follow the instructions on How To Shock Your Pool in Pool School.

    Are you sure you are not getting a reading for FC. Because FC+CC=TC. So if your TC is 4.5 and you are not getting a reading on FC, that means your CC is 4.5 or am I giving out wrong info?

    mynewpool, yes CC must be 4.5.
