Have an above ground 15x4 Intex pool with a model 637R filter pump. Just opened the pool this year and at first the pump worked fine and now, it does not appear to be "sucking" the water through. I can get it to work when i detach the skimmer hose and put a water hose into the hole in the pool (don't know the proper terminology) where the skimmer hose attaches. I have replaced all hoses with the exception of the skimmer hose. The pump runs and i put in a new filter, but to no avail. Any suggestions other than buying a new filter pump? Thanks

Have you taken the skimmer hose off of the fitting in the pool and ran the pump that way? Is the water level in the pool above the suction fitting? Could the pump be clogged at the impeller? Maybe the impeller on the pump is not moving eventhough the pump is on.
