    putty on top of putty?

    I have a leak in one of my skimmers and I noticed that it already has putty on it. if the leak is coming from where the putty is, should I remove the old putty (if that's possible) or just place putty over the putty?

    remove and replace correctly. I tried and failed with putty on top of putty.

    What's the easiest way to remove it?
