So yesterday I used the TF kit for the first time (also my first time testing CH) and I wanted to ask and see what kind of "blue" I should be looking for in the calcium hardness test. I think my CH was somewhere around 400, but it was a very gradual color change from red to purple to bluish purple to finally a pale blue with a hint of purple (added 2 - 3 more drops and the small hint of purple didn't change). Is this what I am supposed to be seeing?

Tried 5 drops first last night, still had a fading endpoint. I'll have to try distilled water.

My guess is that there is lots of copper in the water from the copper/silver ion generator that appears to have been used throughout the pool's entire life. This is probably also the cause of the stains around the pool...
