    Intex Sand Filter

Hi, I wonder if somebody could give us some advice. We have replaced our cartridge filter that came with our intex 24' x 52" pool last year with an intex sand filter. My question is, in the instructions it says to protect it from moisture. Does this mean we need to build a cover around it or is it ok out in the open? Many Thanks.

To my knowledge, EVERY filter is designed with outdoor use in mind. Covering it will make the finish stay nicer longer but the vast majority of them are exposed to the weather.

Did you get the pump and filter combo?
If so it's probably talking about the electronics. While they are made to be left outside, like Dave said, it is better if they are somewhat protected.

It struck me a comical too. That's why I figured they had to eb talking about the pump.

Hi, Thanks for your replies. Yes , it is the pump/filter. I thought my husband was having a laugh when he told me! Think after reading your replies it will be left out as that was always the plan.
    Thanks again.
