Liner Wearing on edge of Divot

I bought a house with a liner pool in 2007. The sellers gave me a receipt showing the liner was replaced a few months before we purchased the house. When we opened the pool the following spring, there was a divot on the ledge of the deep end. The divot is about 6" x 3" and about 2" deep. I have to brush the area constantly to keep algae from growing in the divot.

With all the brushing, the liner is wearing on edges of the divot. At the rate things are going, I think the liner will last another year or two. If this right, the liner will be five to six years old when it starts leaking.

Is this reasonable for a liner lifetime? If not, do I have any recourse to the liner installer?

Appreciate any thoughts.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You are probably wearing the pattern off the liner, but not damaging the liner it's self.

A liner should last 10 to 15 years if it is well cared for, though it varies.
