When I add bleach or chemicals to my pool, do I need to take the solar cover completely off? or can I just lift a little bit up and put the chemicals there..

I have left my cover on while adding chems in front of the return. There are a few things I make sure of when doing that. 1) that the return is pointed slightly downward & 2) that I pour it directly in the return flow very slowly.
Having said that, It's certainly better to completely remove the cover when adding chems to the pool, and if you're not willing to sacrifice the cover, remove it.
