My pool light bulb blew out so I replaced the bulb and the gasket and voila it worked!... for about ten minutes. The gasket was the wrong one (don't trust the pool stores!) I have been unable to find a replacement gasket for the light so I am thinking of rtv'ing it to seal it. Does anyone have experience doing that? pros and cons?
Also there was some dark sticky goo inside that leaked out on the deck which I can't get off. What is it? Is it necessary to keep it in there? How do I clean it up?
There is a post from March 16th 2011 by leered (Pool Equipment Upgrade) that has a great picture showing the goo but no one answered the question about what it was.
I'd like to have the light working but can't afford to replace it this year.
Thanks
