Copper Staining, need help

Hello,

I am asking for a friend. She has a pool that we have found is copper stained. We placed vitamin c tablets onto the stain and it disappeared. But now i need to know what to do next. I believe i need to get som ascorbic acid and pour it in but will this stop the stain from returning.

If someone knows of a step by step guide of doing this that woule be awesome. We are kinda urgent on this as her villa has guests in at the end of May so hopefully between us we can sort it then.

The entire ascorbic acid treatment process is explained here.

However, if they are really copper stains, that process may not take them all off. Copper is tricky and can deposit in different forms that need to be removed in different ways. In the worst case, and AA treatment can make things much more difficult. On the other hand, the test you did means doing AA is very likely to work.
