New Junk Showed up in Pump Filter Basket

I was performing some pool maintenance this afternoon and turned off the skimmer suctions and was using only the pool bottom drains for pool circulation when a whole bunch of stuff showed up in the pump filter basket...

(the penny was added for size purposes)

This pool is almost two years old...

Is this just junk that had been down there since? Is this usual?

Looks like some plaster had settled into the main drain when they were doing the finish.

Do you not use the main drain much?

Yeah, normally using both the main drain and two skimmers...until recently when I switched off the skimmer suction temporarily...
