How badly does a 1.5" heater ruin flow in 2" plumbed pool?

Still considering all angles of adding a heat siphon to my pool. The internal plumbing in the heat pump is smaller than the rest of my system. This will affect flow but what does it translate to in real world use? How much work/electricity will it take to run my pump? Is this a significant consideration or not?

The added flow resistance of a heater is right on the edge of insignificant. In some pools with very efficient plumbing it is enough to be somewhat significant, while in most pools it doesn't make a significant difference. If your electricity is $0.40+ per kwh and the rest of your plumbing was designed for efficiency, you might want to think about installing a heater bypass. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.
