Does anyone know how to separate the pump housing from the motor. I have a Polaris PB-4 pump on a 3/4 hp Magnetek motor. I removed the 4 bolts holding it on but the rest isn't coming free and I don't want to break it. I called polaris and was told it is a keyed shaft and that it should slip off. Ther is signs of corrosion so I'm thinking it is just stuck.
Thanks.

You have to remove the 6 bolts that hold the volute to the bracket. This will expose the impeller. You have to screw off the impeller counterclockwise (it's not keyed). You have to hold the shaft to screw the impeller off. You can hold the shaft from the back by removing the back shaft cover plate. Once the impeller is off, you can separate the motor from the bracket by pulling and twisting. You should replace the seal (P55), bracket O-ring (P95) and the shaft O-ring (P40).
