Jandy Aquapure Apure 700

I have a five year old system (Jandy Apure700). The cell and water flow indicator are both bad. I've thought about changing brands, or just buying a complete new Jandy system which would give me a spare panel at about the same cost as the cell and indicator. Any thoughts on either approach? My question is the style of the 700 has changed from a "square" 2 port with a seperate plumbed pvc flow indicator. The new cells are three port with the flow indicator being the third port. Several websites make vague references to be able to use the new cell in the same plumbing as the original 2 port design. I would guess this is a common question that many of you have seen. Any help is appreciated.

The new cell is a different length than the old one and will require some minor plumbing changes. See this thread: http://www.troublefreepool.com/how-to-replace-jandy-aquapure-1400-t29902.html. I believe the steps are the same for the 700 and the 1400 cell models, but you should verify.

Also, Jandy has helpfully added some instructions to their manual for the cell explaining the required modifications. See their manual: http://www.jandy-downloads.com/pdfs/AquaPure_Manual.pdf, pages 13 and 14. I have also heard that the original sensors that came with the 2 port models won't fit the 3 port, so you'll probably need to budget for a new sensor as well.
