Burned out second sump pump - on second use this time...

Draining a pool - Utilitech 1/2HP 4,000GPH sump pump. Dang thing just stopped pumping - motor was still turning, water was at a trickle (with NO head, maybe 1')...

Any idea why TWO of these didn't last more than a couple of pools each (this is the second one that failed after just a couple of uses)? Any recc's on a GOOD sump pump? Have a partial D&F and need to get a new pump - don't want to buy a(nother) piece of junk...

I always use the Sta-rite sump pumps. I prefer their cast iron series. They are pretty bullet proof. We use them daily to drain, and acid wash pools, and they keep on ticking.
