Manual Vacuum vs Polaris 280

I found a used 280 locally for $180 including all back up valve, hoses, and pool connection kit. After having my 280 stolen that worked great the last two years I'm curious how often I'll be manually vacuuming if I don't buy another auto cleaner. I don't have any shrubs or tree's in my yard but there is one neighboring tree that drops a small amount of leaves and pollen. I'm basically trying to either justify the expense or save some money since I already have a vacuum hose and head. :blah:

How much time do you have to spend on vacuuming? There will always be dirt and leaves blowing into the pool. The question is how much debris will you collect, how much time do you have to clean, and how much will it bother you to see some debris on the bottom of the pool until you have time to clean it?

2-3 hours per week to manually vacuum a 22,000 gal pool or get the Polaris 280... hmmmm...

If there is a tree any where within a 1/2 acre, the leaves somehow find their way into the pool....How do they know :?:
