How much salt is too much

I just purchased a compupool SWG and put in my bags of salt. However according to my test strip I have 4400ppm, and the SWG calls for 3500? Do I need to remove water, or will it still work, and I just let splashing/backwash clear it out over time?

Unless the system give you a high salt error and the unit is making chlorine, you should be OK.

with the exception of when your cell has died or is dirty and your system shows 'low salt' when in fact you've got plenty
