Can I pour liquid bleach over my CYA ?

Hello everyone!

I searched and didn't find any answers to my question. I currently have a sock with CYA in it tied to the deep end return. Problem is, I need to add some chlorine before heading out.

Is it safe to pour the bleach on top of the CYA?

yes you can but if your CYA is very low and you're away for several days it's easiest to place a few trichlor pucks into a floater for the duration of absence.

Thanks! I'll be back later tonight..CYA is about 20-25---boosting it to (I hope) 50 since my pool gets full, direct sunglight all day! Put in 4 pounds...

As Susa said it's ok to pour the chlorine right over the return where the CYA is hanging.
