Has anyone built a kitchen on a low (5 inches off ground) deck built with Ipe?
I will use steel studs with hardie backer stucco and granite tile counter top.
Not really using this as a bar because we have a lot of seating on the pool patio (which is right next to it)

do i need to elevate the bottom track or will the decking be good enough?

Thanks I am new so any advice would be great.

I can't offer a whole lot of help, but I'll say I would still elevate it to make sure water doesn't pool underneath it and rot the deck. Good luck! Perhaps one of the pros will stop by and offer some more specific advice. There are lots of island builds here, so look around!

Thanks. I was thinking of doing that just to make sure.

I will post pics of my project as I get going!

Have to build Ipe deck first then Kitchen on top.

I saw one of the builds i on a deck and he used composite decking.
Thanks

I am building an outdoor kitchen as we speak on an Ipe deck as well. Mine deck is up off the ground about 3-4', but I did put some Ipe pieces under the bottom rail to keep it up off the deck. You can see them in this picture. Forgive the condition of my Ipe, but I am waiting until I finish the kitchen to sand/restain.
