    First Time Opening

This year is going to be my first time opening my pool. What is the order for balancing the chemicals that I should follow? Do I add the bleach first and take it to shock and the worry about balancing the rest (CYA, pH, etc.) or is it the other way around?

The first thing you need to do is run a full set of tests. That will tell you what needs adjusting. My FC was still over 7ppm when I opened so I adjusted pH first.
