    Picking pool type

How do you go about picking a pool type for your area? I live in the south east, south Carolina to be exact. I am looking into the possibility of up grading to an in-ground pool... I don't know which is best, fiberglass or standard vinyl pool.. I want some thing close to 20x40..what do y'all recommend and why?

A good place to start is the Pool Surfaces article in Pool School.
