Getting ready for the spring - Pump Question

I have my attached spa running all winter and the pump runs 24hrs/day since I've got it up to 70 degrees full-time. Is there anything wrong with doing the same with the pump for the pool and spa all summer? The cost hasn't been high for the entire winter running full-time.

Also, you should also be putting your thermal cover on each night when it's colder, correct after the pool is open?

Re: Getting ready for the spring - Pump Question

A lot of people run their pumps 24/7. The electric costs are the biggest reason not to run it. It shortens the overall life of the pump a little but that's usually minor.

If you're trying to maintain heat in the pool and lessen evaporation then you should deploy the solar cover whenever you're not using the pool but especially when it's cooler.
