Want to add larger skimmer to an above ground pool

My pool is an intex 16ft and I would like to upgrade the filtration by replacing my pump, filter, and skimmer. Has anyone put in a larger through the wall skimmer in one of these pools?

Dman is right there's at least one excellent example of a wide-mouth skimmer being mounted in an Intex pool.
