Those tiles look almost the same as Bisazza, which are also pitted, but the Bisazza are paper backed.
Well Henry I wasnt washed away thanks for asking, cos I am a few thousand kms from there and now they have had a big cyclone, so they are certainly not having a trouble free time!
I know what you mean about these tiles, but I guess I either have to use these or use epoxy paint.
