Sand Filter - Parts or junk it

Is anyone familiar with these parts? I come to understand they are antiquated from the local "tells the truth / doesn't try and sell you chemicals every visit" supply store. They said the new parts use different pipe thread sizes as well so the new can't be readily retro-fit to my sand filter.

What brand is this?

Will keep adding pics as phone starts working. :hammer:

In this pic, this was it's general appearance of assembly upon removing the 8-sided top/gauge.

The inner coned piece fit through the larger bowl piece and the thread of the inner coned piece threaded into the 90deg. pipe which goes to the side of the main filter body.

It seems the newer units have a basket (large opening mesh) round unit rather than this cup / cone like set of pieces.

I am not of the belief that this is the ideal thing to do, but;

If I epoxy the top of the cone back together, do likewise to the cracks in the bowl and reinstall it, I believe it may be functional. Not as neat, tidy and efficient as a new unit of course.

But what is the plastic tube from? Sincerely, I fail to believe a ballpoint was dropped. Is there to be any sort of fluid connection to the top cover w/ gauge assy.?

Of note, I reached firmly into the sand and didn't get far enough to feel the under-sand spraybars.
The sand mostly has shat into the pool via the three jets.
