which variable speed pump?

am installing this one:
Pentair Intelliflo Variable Speed Pump VF 3.2kw 3HP 230V

just setup a 3-breaker subpanel with 240v supply for the pump today.

now on to find best price for the pump, tomorrow....

The Pentair VF or the Hayward EcoStar pumps are both pretty good. The EcoStar is a much more user friendly version of Hayward's original VSP. Very user friendly on programming and installation. It's also available in a VRS model for anti-entrapment features.

I have the Pentair VF-3050. That pump does more than I'll ever want it to do.

My old Hayward pump ran at 2050 watts while the VF runs at 375 watts, were I have it set at 31 gals per min. (the 2050 watts was measured).
It has a built in timer that does alot.
The pump knows when the filter is full (you set the pressure) and shuts off.
The pump knows if an intake line is blocked and shuts off.
The pump shuts down for low voltage.
It's a great pump.

BUT

Remember ... it has 2 inch fittings and I don't run the pump at a real low watt input and water output setting. I will not put a 2 inch to 1.5 inch fitting between the pump and the filter, (don't flame me cause I won't) so I also put in a new and bigger sand filter with 2 inch fitting.
I just answered another post about the VF-3050 pump as to how I did it.
