Trying to help a neighbor replace a bad light. The cord apparently has swelled in the niche and it will not budge. Also, no J-box was installed so I have to pull from the equipment. I'm out of answers and nothing I've tried will loosen the cord. Any thoughts?

The cord didn't expand the conduit that the cord runs through is probably crushed. You need to get at the wiring to attach a stringer. Your best bet to free the light would be to pull it from the pool side by getting in the pool and placing your feet on the wall and pull using your leg muscles
