Water Tubes: Where and What to buy?

Hi Everyone,

I need help with buying some new water tubes for my winter leaf cover. I notice that online stores measure them in gauges. But I thought plastic was measured in mils? Anyway, the stores tout the higher gauges as being thicker and better. However, I thought low gauge number were thicker,(as in sheet metal). I would appreciate any advice on what type, gauge and where to purchase water bags. Also, is there any suitable product that can replace the water bags?

There have been several discussions lately about water tubes and what could be used to replace them. You can use the Google search at the bottom left of each page to search for them. One idea that I liked was using PVC pipe filled with water connected together to make a ring around the pool.

Actually, I like the single cell 8' cheap ones. The thicker ones dry out and birds pop them just as easily. Longer ones lose more holding power when they pop.
Dual cells, when one of the cells pops are useless, regardless of length.
