I know this site suggests nothing but liquid chlorine for a number of reasons and that's what I've been using for a couple of months.

I've seen these at target for $10-12 and just curious if they are worth getting. I don't think it's a bargain if you compare it to prices in clubs, but you get these in smaller quantities.

Also, I don't understand what exactly "dual layer" is and how different it is from Leslie's 3" tablets. Can anyone explain?

Thanks.

P.S. Target also has Aqua Chem poles, brushes, vacuum head with brush, test kits, refills and strips on clearance.

I'm referencing items from ebay. sorry if links don't work any longer:

pole around $7-8. I think this is a great deal.

vacuum head for vinyl pools. Don't remember the price, but I believe it was under $10. Wonder if this will work with concrete pool. I don't see why it wouldn't, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

test strips, kits. I love TF test kit, but some of my results are always different then any of the leslie's store that tested my water. I've seen them testing calcium and counted the number of drops and looked at the color of the water. I believe they use Talyer K-2006 for their testing. Not sure if their drops are bigger or their solution is stronger, but their 550 is my 700. CYA is another one that's varies by up to 20ppm.
Not sure how accurate AquaChem tests are. Solutions are probably not good for the next year, but the test strips have expiration date of 2012.
