offgrid - really really suggest getting the 'real' test kit. I bought my house/pool last year, p/o left his Aquacheck meter, it was all over the map, not repeatable.
the test kit is around $70 and an excellent investment
for instance the 'low' TA can actually be OK if your Calcium is highish, like mine....
