Dye Test and Pebble Tec surface?

Does anyone know if performing a dye test on a pebble tec surface will cause any staining?
Also, anyone know if there is a certain ratio of dye to water to mix in a bottle (test solution little bottle) before you dispense it or do you just put straight food coloring in and dispense in the area of the suspected leak? Thanks.

Food coloring will have no effect. Put your thumb over the tip of the bottle so that you do not dilute the dye between squirts. Phenol red works well also.
