My wife and I are going to build our own pool and fence, we'll be the GM anyway. You can check out our progress at http://www.buildingmydreampool.blogspot.com

Looks pretty basic. Are you sure you don't want something a bit fancier to start with?

Since my pool was just completed, I look forward to tracking someone else's progress.

One tiny bit of advice, make sure your irrigation system is rerouted (if needed) prior to digging so you don't lose more of your lawn than expected. (St. Augustine - the grass that costs more than kids to feed and take care of)

Wow in three days these guys have marked, dug, tied steel, and formed. We get inspected on Monday and they will shoot on Tuesday. All of this in one week, I have talked to several people that said it took them 3 weeks w/ their pool company to get this much done.

(St. Augustine - But it's such nice grass to run in barefoot - ouch)

We would like to use a different grass in our raised bed. Does anyone know what kind of grass they use in Florida at the football/soccer fields?

I believe it's Kentucky Bluegrass. It's my favorite, but it doesn't do so great in our climate. Too hot! Needs to be watered 2-3x's a day.
