Polaris Upgrade?

My local pool store sent me an e-mail offer that gives me a $200 trade in on my Polaris 280 towards the purchase of the Polaris 3900 Sport, $150 for a 380 or $50 for a 360. I've been happy with my 280 but was wondering what people thought about the 3900? Should I just stick with my 280 or move up to the 3900?

I'd stay clear of the 3900. I've had to rebuild it once since I bought last year. Kinks the hose, does not climb well, had problems with the wheels and gears. I'm planning on converting back to a 280 that i got off ebay when the 3900 dies again.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.

My 280 cleans up just about everything from the bottom and I would not trade it for anything but a new 280. Climbs the walls, and keeps the pool very clean. This weekend it sucked up a spiderman toy that is about 5" long. Still don't know how it did it.

Thanks, guys! I too have no problems with my 280, it does a great job. I guess I'll do what you're doing, stick with what's working.
